After pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2002, Prof. Ada Ferri started her specialization in textile engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Her research interests are in the field of materials and technologies for sportswear, advanced functional textiles and sustainable processes for dyeing and finishing.

Prof. Ada Ferri is currently chair professor of High performance fibres for composites, sportswear and protection and Thermodynamics for Materials Science in the MSc in Materials Science Engineering. She serves as lecturer in the We-team program on the subject of Application of Technical Textiles.

She runs several national and international projects in collaboration with textile firms and brands for designing and testing functional sportswear for extreme environments. She is passionate about disseminating knowledge to the general public and she gave a TEDx talk about "How to get dressed for the South Pole".

She is coauthor of about 60 articles published in international peer-review journals and the full list of publications and projects is available at her personal page of Politecnico di Torino website.
